    Longines is a Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Founded by Auguste Agassiz, a Swiss watchmaker and brother of biologist Louis Agassiz. Several years later, Agassiz brought in his bright, enterprising nephew, trained economist Ernest Francillon, into the business.
